In all seriousness, it does look suitable for your kids or if you're on a budget. Cheap and robust looking. Enough to keep around the house and play some good games.

Wow this is weird, I would buy it if it folded like the normal models.  The exposed screen kind of kills it I think.

so the next gameboy micro? because that sh*t is nasty.

Yeah and their reasoning behind it was so Children under ages 7 and Under could play 3DS games and not worry about the 3D effect.

I mean I guess it's understandable with it coming out the same day Pokemon X and Y come out, but...........Nintendo.........man......

Well they've done one thing right at least.   Abandoned the idea of 3D.  Nobody wants it.

Ok, that is understandable. Even though you can turn off the 3D effect on 3DS you will still be tempted to use it because the button is there.

But they could also put parental controls on there whereby the 3D won't turn on even if you use the button. Or is that already on there ?

Honestly, the more I think about this, the more I think this is a genius move.

A cheap, entry level, child friendly gaming device, releasing the same day as Pokemon XY - this could catch on.
